Concrete preparation with walk behind grinder and edge grinder. This removes any existing coatings and creates a Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) in the surface necessary for a mechanical bond with our products. Different products require different CSP and we use different types of diamond grinding bits to achieve this. We prepare all concrete by grinding, which will yield the best results. 

Crack and hole repair as needed to create the best structural substrate as possible. Any hairline cracks, larger cracks, pitting or damaged areas will be addressed. Expansion joints are typically left unless customers choose to fill them. Some finishes like metallic, solid color, and glitter systems require more careful repairing for best results.

Depending on the chosen system and the condition of the concrete we will install a primer coat to seal concrete. We do this for porous, soft, and pitted concrete although a primer can be used with medium to hard concrete too. Primers can be clear or pigmented and are the best insurance to ensure the best results. All metallic floors will be primed no matter the condition of the concrete. Other systems will be primed as needed. Primers are not to be confused for moisture barriers - when there is a moisture issue we use specific products for this. 

Once we the floor is fully prepared, we will move onto installing the epoxy floor system you have chosen. On average full floor installation will take between 1- 4 days and return to service can be in as little as couple of hours depending on the floor system.
